The Corsicana Tigers Varsity beat Lindale (TX) 13-3 Tuesday behind both the bat and the arm of Chelsea Vandiver.

Vandiver racked up three RBIs on four hits for the Corsicana Tigers Varsity. She doubled in the third inning and singled in the first, second, and fifth innings.

Vandiver brought the heat against Lindale during her outing. Lindale managed just four hits off of Vandiver, who allowed one earned run, walked one and struck out two during her five innings of work.

Ten runs in the first three innings helped the Corsicana Tigers Varsity blow out Lindale . A three-run double by Jada Woolley during the first inning and an RBI triple by Madison Pond, an RBI single by Vandiver, and an RBI single by Kameron Betts in the second inning fueled the Corsicana Tigers Varsity’s offense early.

Hannah Knox was charged with the loss. She allowed seven runs in two innings, walked none and struck out three.

One Lindale run crossed the plate in the top half of the second, making the score 3-1. A groundout by Katie Ridriguez fueled Lindale ‘s comeback. Finally, Vandiver induced an inning-ending strike out from Sarah Valdez.

It didn’t take long for the Corsicana Tigers Varsity to answer as they scored three runs of their own in the second.

The Corsicana Tigers Varsity added four more runs in the bottom of the third.Skylar Kirk started the inning with a single, plating Lexi White.

The Corsicana Tigers Varsity answered Lindale ‘s top inning with three runs of their own in the fifth. The Corsicana Tigers Varsity scored on an RBI single by Vandiver, a two-run error, and a two-run error.
