Student Council provides many privileges to its members and is very exciting. On February 13th, we went to The American Airlines Center for a leadership conference. Our first stop was El Phoenix in downtown Dallas for an early dinner. When we arrived at the American Airlines Center before the conference started we were able to go down to the center of the court to take a picture with NBA World Championship trophy. After that we heard a speech from two very outstanding former basketball players – Nancy Lieberman and Ronaldo Blackman. When the conference was over, we were able to stay and watch the Mavericks beat the L.A Clippers. Before the game started, we were allowed to go down close to the court and watch the players practice. It was a lot of fun seeing some of my favorite players up close.
