Tiger Ambush

Madeline Young, H100 Junior Editor

This season is a big season for the Tigers. Losing four seniors from last season was a significant change but the juniors coming up had it under control. There is one senior on the team Madison Pond and no doubt that she has a huge role on the team. Tigers started out the season beating Fairfield at a home game then the next weekend went to the Fairfield and won 1st place. Tiger volleyball has not won a tournament since 2000, so this was big for the CHS volleyball team.
This past weekend they traveled to the Berkner tournament winning all their games and placing them in the gold bracket. The next day the Tigers took 4th out of 50 teams made up of 5A/6A teams.

This weekend they are going to their last tournament of the season in Rockwall and are ready to work hard and play their hearts out on the court. This year we have a full team of juniors, Kiki Blanton, Maddie Young, Alexis Johnson, Abby Harlan, Mariah Lee, Gracie Griffin and Lauren Smith.
It’s a different year for all of them because usually there are more seniors than juniors and the seniors lead. But this is the time for the juniors to step up and lead the team. We have a freshman on the team that is a killer volleyball player, Lara Bwicheilug of course taking after her sister’s steps former CHS volleyball player Calie Bwicheilug who graduated last year.
