The Corsicana Tigers Varsity jump on McKinney early and coast to 8-2 win


The Corsicana Tigers Varsity jumped out to an early lead on McKinney and captured an 8-2 victory on Friday at Forney tournament.

With five runs in the first three innings, the Corsicana Tigers Varsity left no doubt about the eventual outcome.

A two-run double by Katy Andrews, and an RBI single by Madison Pond in the first inning and an RBI single by Leeah Seth during the second inning helped the Corsicana Tigers Varsity put some runs on the board early.

Kameron Betts went a perfect 2-2 at the plate for the Corsicana Tigers Varsity. She doubled in the second inning and singled in the fourth inning.

Chelsea Vandiver handled McKinney’s lineup with ease, racking up seven strikeouts. Vandiver allowed two earned runs on six hits and three walks over six innings.

The Corsicana Tigers Varsity tacked on another two runs in the fourth. A error scored Betts to start the scoring in the inning.
