First-inning rally sparks win for the Corsicana Tigers Varsity, 21-0

The Corsicana Tigers Varsity jumped out to an early lead on John Tyler and captured a 21-0 victory on Tuesday.

Twenty-one runs in the first three innings allowed the Corsicana Tigers Varsity to put the game away early.

A steal of home by Madison Pond, a two-run home run by Leeah Seth, an RBI single by Anna Carver, , a two-run double by Pond, a three-run error, a two-run single by Chelsea Vandiver, a steal of home by Rosalinda Cortez, and an RBI single by Carver in the first inning and an RBI single by Pond, an RBI single by Carly Cates, an RBI single by Jourdan Bruce, and a walk by Katy Andrews during the second inning fueled the Corsicana Tigers Varsity’s offense early.

The Corsicana Tigers Varsity got their bats going early, scoring 14 runs in the first inning to pull ahead of John Tyler.

John Tyler couldn’t get anything going as long as Vandiver was in the circle. John Tyler managed just one hit off of Vandiver, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out four during her three innings of work.

The Corsicana Tigers Varsity easily handled John Tyler pitching as eight hitters combined for 13 hits, 13 RBIs and 16 runs scored.

Ja’Dhae Collier took the loss for John Tyler. She allowed 21 runs in three innings, walked seven and struck out one.
